Privacy policy

Solace Studios makes Narration Studio ’27. This policy explains what we collect through the software and this website, and why. The short version: your recordings and manuscripts stay on your computer.

In the software

• Your recordings, scripts and projects are stored on your computer. We never receive them.
• Speech recognition (Follow Voice, script sync, misread detection, captions) runs entirely on your computer. No audio is sent anywhere.
• Update checks. Once a day, unless you turn it off, the software asks GitHub, where our releases are hosted, whether a newer version exists. GitHub sees your IP address, as with any web request.
• Crash and problem reports are saved on your computer. They’re only sent to us if you choose to send one. Reports include technical details such as the app version, Windows version and what the app was doing. Your user name is removed from file paths. We use Sentry to receive and store them.
• Subscription check. To confirm your trial or subscription, the software sends your license key and a random identifier for your computer to our license server. It does not send your files or anything about your projects.
• “Look Up How to Say” opens a web search for the word you chose in your browser, only when you use it.

On this website

• Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
• Forms. When you contact us, join the Mac waiting list or request a refund, we receive what you type, including your name and email. We use it only to reply, to process your request and to improve the software. The message is delivered by email through our provider, Resend.
• Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes requests, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Payments

Payments are processed by PayPal, which collects your payment details under its own privacy statement. PayPal sends us your name, email, country and subscription status so we can send your license key, provide support and keep tax records. We never see your card number or PayPal password.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your information, show ads or use advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

We keep support emails and refund feedback for as long as they’re useful for helping you and improving the software, and subscription records as long as the law requires for tax and accounting. Ask us to delete your information at any time, except what we must keep by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or export your information, or to object to how we use it. Email support@narrationstudio.net and we’ll help.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on this site.
